Pupils discover world enterprise

Pupils will learn about the ethical and social responsibilty of trading resources in "Our Wold".

Primary school pupils from Yorkshire will attend the Young Enterprise’s “Our World” Programme event at Hull’s KC stadium on Wednesday 14th November.

More than 200 delegates will be addressed by guest speakers the High Commissioner of Mauritius Abhimanu Kudasamy, William Wilberforce and John Healey MP Minister in Department of Communities and Local Government, Steve Booth Chief Executive Young Enterprise and Steven Bayes Regional Board Member of the Co-operative Group.

Pupils will discover how countries and people of the world rely on each other for their everyday needs and wants through importing and exporting goods and services.

Using a world resource map, trading game and enterprise challenge pupils simulate the decisions that countries and business have to make.

The outcomes are often enterprising and revealing as pupils that represent richer nations strive to balance economics with the desire to act in an ethical and socially responsible way towards poorer nations.
